Thank you for being here for this journey.
Why HOLDFAST?
A holdfast is the root like structure that secures kelp to the rocky sea floor or reef. It is strong and flexible, and supports not only the life of the kelp, but the lives of so many other organisms that make their home among the kelp. I have a huge respect and awe for kelp as a whole, but particularly for the holdfasts that create the foundations of the Cape Town kelp forests that are so dear to me. HOLDFAST reminds me of the strength I draw from the ocean, it keeps me connected to the beautiful Cape Town kelp forests wherever I go, and it inspires me to be strong, flexible, and a safe space for those around me, just like the holdfast on kelp.
